°Starting from the easy point you can't consent if you're inebriated. Alcohol doesn't play well with healing either. °when designing I prefer to start over email, but offer in person consultations. There can be pressure to say yes to the first thing I draw if you've sat with me for an hour or more watching me. Through email many people are more likely to ask for little tweaks and edits so we can truly collaborate and create the piece you want together. No need to feel pressure this is art, it's beautiful and fun! °I want informed consent so if I see any possible issues that might come up I'll let you know what that might look like in 10 or 20 years but at the end of the day it is your body and as long as you know what fresh vs healed will look like I'm usually happy to work with you. ° I try to describe everything I'm about to do and where you can stand or sit so there's no awkward guess work. Many people don't know what's being put on their skin at the beginning so just checking in with, "this will be soap" and so on before applying anything to you and checking your response gives you the knowledge and the power. ° I overly ask if you like the stencil placement, no people pleaser tattoos! "How do we feel about that?" "Great and you like the height and size still" basically you might have to say yes to me three times and we'll both be confident! I make it clear we can always move it and bonus your skin gets to be really clean and exfoliated if we do that a few times! I also bring up anywhere I think it could be adjusted even if you've said yes in case you'd like to see an alternate option. This part is temporary so let's get it how you want. ° I do have in my reminder message things about eating and drinking enough water, but I'll still check in on you especially if we've been working for a bit to see if you think you've had enough food and water. Hydrate or diedrate my dudes. °I'll let you know before a fresh cold paper towel is coming in so there's no alarm. °I have a space in my request form for you to mention accomodations so if you need a less stimulation or anything else I can handle I will! Not enough space here haha
