Tattoos, Gallery Art, Classes, and Community.

Our aim is to uplift the success of local artists by working and learning with one another, while providing a space for art-collectors to get quality, meaningful artworks.

The space is designed with plants, comfort and lighting, all wrapped up in organized eclecticism.

We strive to maintain a calm environment in our musical and electronic choices. Our artists all understand and uphold values of inclusivity, communication, and empathy.

Why?

The Artists’ Grove was born from the values of Xana Hammonds (co-founder/Owner) and Chai Sun Lee (co-founder) —- a culmination of their best thinking.

Chai originally apprenticed at Dark Age Tattoo Studio, and then started tattooing in Dallas in 2020. Shortly thereafter, they opened the private tattoo studio, Quill Arcana. They have been motivated to succeed by their children and are extremely passionate about both executive and creative growth.

Xana actually won a free tattoo session from Chai in Chai’s very first month of tattooing! After getting to know each other for several sessions and life experiences, they became friends. Chai accepted Xana as an apprentice at Quill Arcana, and an amazing working-relationship burgeoned.

Zoom forward 2 years later, Xana is an autonomous tattoo artist and Chai and Xana have been propelled to create an intentional business.

Both LGBTQ+, nature-loving, service-driven humans, with a great combo of business, momentum, artistry and optimism traits, they now bring their best thinking and resources to the table to create a completely unique experience for the tattoo and art community, embodied in The Artists’ Grove.

Events and classes are growing at the shop and with our business neighbors! We’ll have more as we continue to bloom, but we’re so excited to see you come in now or hire us for your own event.

Where?

We are located in the heart of our beloved Denton, Texas, in between The Dime Store and The Bearded Monk.

Denton is a charming city with a walkable town square, two universities and a welcoming multicultural environment.

Here on the left, we have parking suggestions. If you need more guidance on how to navigate Denton, please let us know!

We are currently discussing with the city the addition of a ramp for wheelchair accessibility, but currently have two steps up to our entrance.

  • The shop minimum is $80. Each artist has a different rate. If the artist does not have their price available, it can be gained through inquiring the artist directly.

  • yes, consultations can be scheduled through the contact form. Consultation prices vary from artist to artist.

  • Our events are kid-friendly unless otherwise stated. Especially our family-friendly variety show that is for kids and family. For tattoo appointments include that in your request form so your artist knows, but they are welcome! We have boardgames and coloring books available to all guests.

  • our artists have their own section on here, but if you still can’t decide the request form has a checkbox for that!
